PLG on the Go: A little Fall Getaway at the Zermatt Resort

One of our favorite Fall traditions is to have a little getaway weekend each year to enjoy all the Fall things. We love this season, the weather, the scenery, and the fun activities. When our friends at the Zermatt Resort invited us to have a stay, we were so excited! This was the PERFECT location for our getaway this year, and it did not disappoint.

The Zermatt is tucked up in the mountains of beautiful Midway, Utah, which is a little town with Swiss heritage just 25 minutes from Park City and 45 minutes from Salt Lake City. It is the most charming Swiss-themed resort to reflect that heritage, and we had a great time while we were there. We felt like we were in another world, even though we were only a couple hours from home.

When we first walked in, there was Halloween decor all over the lobby. I am not a Halloween person, but I am a sucker for festivity and I loved that they were celebrating! The attendants at the front desk were dressed in Halloween costumes, and there was a sign posted with SO MANY events they had planned for the month of October - including a costume fashion show, palm or card readings, Halloween crafting, and a Halloween 5k.

Our room was so beautiful and so cozy. I loved the European-inspired details, the bathroom was huge and gorgeous, we had a fireplace and tub right in the room, and the bed was SO comfortable! We could have happily stayed in there the whole weekend, but that would have been a waste because all of this was outside calling to us to come and play:

The Zermatt has so much to offer - we found tennis courts, volleyball, mini golf, life-size chess/checkers, shuffle board, and ATV rentals after about two seconds of exploring. There are also restaurants, a spa, a fitness center, and pools!

Later the first day, we ended up across the street, where there was the cutest pumpkin walk going on. There were the most creative scenes made of pumpkins and we loved looking at them. It was the perfect activity for a fall getaway!

The Zermatt also has its very own carousel, which we couldn't pass up. Chance LOVED it. Okay maybe not, but he will grow into liking those kinds of things right? And at least it made a cute picture.

We spent a lot of our time just walking around the grounds in awe of how beautiful the scenery was, how pretty the leaves were, how the weather was so perfect, and how nice it was to be there.

As if this place isn't good enough already, there is also an authentic European bakery/tea shop, along with a couple other shops. Bakeries are my mecca, and we had the most BEYOND Caramel Pecan roll and the yummiest specialty hot chocolate, and I could have eaten one of everything. Or two...

We also tried their new Wildfire Smokehaus restaurant, and although I neglected to take a picture, it was so so so good. Awesome service, live music, delicious food. Mmm mmm mmm.

We had a wonderful time and this place will definitely be on our rotation for future Fall getaways. Thank you so much to the Zermatt Resort for having us! We will love you forever.
