PLG DIY: Iron-On Valentine Sweatshirt

If you read this blog then you know that iron-on transfer IS OUR JAM. We love it. We live for it. So, when holidays come around my iron starts getting hot because the opportunities for iron-on festivity are endless. This is especially the case for Valentines day because HEARTS. I already want hearts on everything every day of the year, so a holiday that accepts this as its standard I embrace wholeHEARTedly.

Ok fine. Here is the love-day sweatshirt I made:

Supplies:
-Plain sweatshirt, t-shirt, or any kind of solid top
-Iron-on transfer paper (If you are using a cutting machine or cutting your design by hand and just want a white design, you can use the transfer pages for dark colors and it will iron-on white without having to do any printing!)
-Iron

Steps:
1. First, you’ll want to choose a design for your shirt. I found mine here.
2. There are a couple of different methods for getting the design transferred to your shirt. You can print off the design from your computer to an inkjet printer and iron on that design after cutting it out, or you can trace and hand cut out the design onto the iron-on transfer paper, or you can use a cutting machine to cut your design. For my project I used a Silhouette Portrait to cut my design. The sucker is a WIZARD. I am obsessed.

Note: If your design has words like mine you’ll want to remember to flip your image horizontally so that after you iron it on it will read in the right direction!

3. Iron on your design per your iron-on brand instructions

4. Peel back your paper once it cools and that’s it! It couldn’t be easier and the result are SO cute and festive! I love you, “love you” sweatshirt! I really do!

I made myself the perfect festive DIY valentine sweatshirt to get ready for love day, and I'm going to show you how to make one too. So simple!
