The problem is, we couldn't narrow it down to just five and stay on theme, so today we have the first ever Six Things Friday. Yes, it messes up our alliteration which does sadden me, but it had to be done, it's for the students. So here it is, Six Things Friday: Back to School Edition.
1. A couple of great dresses.
The thing about dresses is this: they are versatile. Wear them with flats and a belt in warm weather, or with tights, boots and a sweater when it gets cold. These three dresses are all under $20, and two of them are only $12. Can you believe? Get. them. now.
2. A great pair of boots.
Yes, you need them. They sassify any outfit and make cold weather nearly bearable because they are freaking cute. And I am dying over the riding boots trend. So classy. Love them over leggings or skinny jeans. If you were wondering, I've got my eye on these ones (20% off coupon SUMMER11).
3. Lots of cardigan sweaters.
Do I really need to tell you this? Cardigan sweaters are the perfect layering item when fall comes around, and you can always find them on sale somewhere.
4. A fab pair of skinnies:
Dark-wash skinny jeans are flattering on anybody. And hello, red and green? I say go for it. Adorable. My favorite trend right now is an oversized shirt with skinny jeans. Show off those legs and be comfy. Yep, I like it.
5. A couple pairs of sassy flats.
Is there an easier way to add color or personality to an outfit? No, there isn't. Flats come in all colors, patterns, and with all sorts of embellishments. Plus, they are comfy. Are you seeing a theme here? Yes, I like being comfy in school.
6. Annnnd... a basic blazer:
I love throwing on a blazer on a cool day over almost any outfit because they make you look instantly polished. My favorite places to get them? Thrift stores baby! I have found a couple of my favorite blazers at my local thrift store for ridiculously cheap. Go check yours out! You'll be glad you did.

ReplyDeleteMy Mom was saying just the other day that she doesn't need to go back to school shopping anymore(My little bro graduated high school last year). Think she was a little sad about it.
But even so, I kind of miss back to school shopping! I always loved getting a new backpack.
i love back to school. that's the one thing i miss about school. lies. i also miss when you get done with it. that's another good one. but i do love shopping for back to school. i could go to target and just stare at all the pencils and binders for hours. and then look at all those fresh, bright back to school clothes and sigh. sounds like fun. also i really like that band that you featured on last weeks five things friday. kinda digging them on spotify (do you know what that is? oh yeah, it's awesome). oh and i think i'll be grabbing those boots sometime soonish. paychecks, man. i love/hate them. all right, that's enough of this novel. happy friday!
